Hakaisha the Dragon

Ahhh, I just love this picture *huggles it* I worked for hours on it...

This is Hakaisha (whose name means "Destroyer"), the dragon in my book, "The Feather of Immortality". His story is this:
Every dragon has a relic or treasured object in which they amass their power, and without the object they'd be terribly weak and defenseless. Thus, this is the most fiercely guearded object and why dragons guard their treasures so carefully. Well, Hakaisha had his treasure sword, Ryuu no Kibu ("The Dragon's Fang" in Japanese) stolen by a stupid little human called Feo, and thus he's been reduced to the size of a lizard and a pitiful fraction of his former prowess. He looks the same in either form, though.
But this picture is of him in his full strength, simply because it would be larger than life size if it were him in his small form XDXD

Anyway, about the process. Gosh, this took me FOREVER. Besides gathering together all I know about drawing dragons and painstakingly transferring my representation of the character in my head to paper, I also drew and colored each tiny scale individually. Whew! As you can imagine, this was no easy job. But I'm proud of the result.
